Polyurethane Suspension Bushes
The introduction of polyurethane suspension bushes has offered a vast improvement over their rubber counterparts. Suspension bushes are among the most highly stressed components of a vehicle, withstanding enormous forces with no maintenance or lubrication.
Rubber contains components which are prone to oxidisation, which causes the rubber to deteriorate with age, becoming softer and less able to offer resistance to any forces placed on it. When rubber suspension bushes deteriorate, they cause the suspension to have incorrect geometry, which in turn causes increased tyre wear, instability under breaking, and poor handling.
Recent advances in manufacturing have made it possible to create polyurethane bushes which have the same ride quality as rubber bushes, but with a significantly increased lifespan. The combination of elasticity and high tensile strength in polyurethane bushes translates into high durability under the toughest conditions.
